As well as some already well known names in the world of elite triathlon, including the likes of Hugo Milner winning the senior XC title and Olivia Mathias taking a top 15 finish in the Senior Women’s race, youth and junior triathletes took top performances at the English National Cross Country on 21 February, through younger categories with podiums in the U17 races from Kitty Scott and Ben Allen most notably.

Sedgefield, in County Durham was the venue for the 2026 English National Cross Country and some relatively dry conditions on the day made for some fast racing. Two highlight results were in both U17 races, where Kitty Scott of Aldershot Farnham & District claimed 2nd in 16.26 just 10s off winner Sonny Allen, to lead her team to the team title as well.

Ben Allen of Cannock and Stafford AC took 2nd in the U17 men’s race, ending 20 minutes of close racing with a sprint finish for 1st, just missing out by 1s, taking a strong podium finish in 19.04 over the 6.1k course at Sedgefield.
